AUTUMN SHOE SYSTEM - PRACTICAL AND POLISHED

We’d never suggest you close the door on summer prematurely, but equally, it’s not too early to start thinking about next season’s wardrobe, particularly when an exciting new drop of Studio Nicholson footwear is in the offing. For Studio Nicholson AW23 we welcome a clutch of stellar footwear styles – there’s a bunch of brand new molecules, as well some returning favourites.

To open proceedings there’s Donovan, a soft, modern slip-on constructed from nappa leather, with a stitched apron reminiscent of Venetian loafers. Hot on Donovan’s elasticated heels are the Laszlo, which takes the classic Chelsea boot as its starting point before roaming into new modern territory. Its handmade natural crepe sole is subtly wedged, creating a unique silhouette and adding a bit of extra height in the process. Based on the same last as Laszlo is Leitch, a two eyelet lace-up that nods to the 1960s. The women’s version is constructed from soft tumbled leather, while for the men’s we’ve used classic suede.

Moving onto this season’s clog contingent, and we have Hardning, available in both tumbled leather – a brand new fabrication for Hardning this season – and split suede. Hardning has a wide, rounded shape inspired by traditional workwear clogs, with an added backstrap for comfort. The Wearing clog adopts a more minimalist approach, with an upper constructed from a single piece of high quality, carbon neutral leather, and a cushioned EVA sole with a moulded footbed. Another returning style is our Moon shoe, which fuses a baroque influence with boldly modern design choices.

Boots are covered by the Kick, Square, and Magda. Each utilises a heavy duty Vibram sole and high quality leather uppers. Tate – a well-loved Studio Nicholson classic – gets an upgrade with an ultra-sleek, Italian calf leather.

Autumn, as always, is the ideal season for socks and sandals; with this in mind there’s Spring and Sole, both of which use a leather-wrapped moulded footbed and EVA outsole. The Spring keeps things simple in the slide stakes, while the Sole has a luxurious single-piece suede upper and an adjustable buckle strap. Practical, purposeful and playful – the perfect punctuation for the modular wardrobe.
