Maria Somerville is a Connemara-born musician and songwriter, whose laid-back electric guitar, organ chords and ghostly Irish vocals combine to create lo-fi electronic folk. Alongside her ethereal releases, she also has her own NTS radio show, so it made sent to ask Maria to pull together a playlist of favourites for the Modular Sounds series.
When asked about her musical inspiration she said, “I have included a lot of Irish musicians that I love – Seán Being, Henry Earnest and Lankum, as well as LA band Untitled Halo and RIP Swirl who released a great album called Blurry last year.”
