Available in two colours, Black and Milk, these unisex additions have been designed for hardwearing functionality. With subtle debossed logo, gunmetal hardware and compact branded zip puller, the Wallet has been engineered for ease of use. Sized to fit easily into a trouser or jacket pocket, its slender, but fully operational proportions come complete with a poppered coin pouch, 4 card slot holder and 2 further internal slots for additional cards or stamps. Across the back, there’s a traditional note section built to fit most currency sizes. As you’d expect from a Studio Nicholson product, the technical spec is all about useability – it zips up along 3 sides to keep your valuables safe but makes everyday transactions much faster.
The Card Holder has slots on both sides (not just on one, which is the industry standard on leather goods of this size) – an adaptation that really increases its utility. There’s also a central section for receipts of the day, which can be emptied later to keep things looking streamline. Both are made in Spain using carbon neutral leathers from one of Germany’s oldest tanneries, which was established in 1899. This 5th generation family business prides itself on being classed as following the ‘Gold Standard’ certification level of practice, set out by the Leather Working Group. All hides used are from local European cows of the highest breed and quality, hailing from either Germany, Denmark or Holland.
The leather selected for use by Studio Nicholson uses a minimal amount of finishing, which makes the final product look as natural as possible and helps to retain suppleness throughout its lifecycle. On closer inspection, both wallet and cardholder have a crisp, clean and exceptionally smooth finish – the result of using the only the highest quality skins.
