Studio Nicholson Launches Menswear Winter 2017
I have always had a much stronger emotional response to menswear than I do to womenswear. As a former menswear designer I approach all aspects of design from a very masculine perspective, by way of silhouette, detail and finally finishing. Seven years into our womenswear business its about time I scratched the menswear itch. We have appointed Mr Charlie Mellor as Product Director to drive the new menswear business alongside the existing womenswear business. Charlie was Head of Design at Fred Perry for eight years heading up the collaboration business at FP securing collaborative projects such as Raf Simons, Drakes and Comme des Garçons.
Launching for Winter 2017 we believe the brand has a natural and obvious spot in the market place offering the same carefully considered pieces presented in the same modular wardrobe way for men as we do for women, having had our wholesale business lusting after the same womenswear pieces adapted for a masculine fit for some time now. Whilst developing this first menswear range over the last few months, I feel incredibly energised and that there is a new validation and serendipity for the future.
