STUDIO NICHOLSON x ASICS GEL-QUANTUM VIII

Studio Nicholson has partnered with Japanese sportswear brand ASICS to present a refined take on their iconic GEL-Quantum 360 VIII sneaker.

Limited to just 100 pairs globally, the Studio Nicholson x ASICS's GEL-Quantum 360 VIII silhouette is refined with the handcrafted application of luxury Italian leathers. In keeping with our ready-to-wear collections and pared-back attitude, a less-is-more sophistication has been fused with the innovation and functionality of ASICS to create this debut sneaker. 

"Sports and streetwear, particularly from the 90s, has forever been an overarching theme for us at Studio Nicholson - it's when I formed all my design opinions. I’ve wanted to do a sportier sneaker collaboration for a while and ASICS, being Japanese, was the dream partner for me."

Inspired by her many years working in Japan, Studio Nicholson Creative Director Nick Wakeman draws on elements of Tokyo’s architecture, design and street style in every collection. Speaking on this collaboration she says, “Sports and streetwear, particularly from the 90s, has forever been an overarching theme for us at Studio Nicholson - it's when I formed all my design opinions. I’ve wanted to do a sportier sneaker collaboration for a while and ASICS, being Japanese, was the dream partner for me.”

Hand finished by artisans in London, the decision to work with premium Italian leather reflects Studio Nicholson’s guiding philosophy towards a fabric-first approach across all designs, never compromising on the quality of materials. This attitude permeates through the new Studio Nicholson x ASICS GEL-Quantum 360 VIII, adding luxury elements of texture and hand craftsmanship to the sports sneaker.

Arriving in triple black, both sides of the shoe feature a luxe high-shine black Italian leather appliqué with an intricate hand-cut lattice effect, championing the iconic ASICS logo. This is hand-sewn using a traditional saddle stitch and layered over the hand-painted upper to complete a tone-on-tone black design. Textured drummed Italian leather with a debossed Studio Nicholson logo has been applied onto the tongue whilst the laces have exclusive branded aglets. The GEL-Quantum 360 VIII black mesh upper allows for breathability whilst DIVISION SPACE™ cushioning technology is structured in the midsole. 

The Studio Nicholson x ASICS GEL-Quantum 360 VIII sneaker will launch Thursday 30th May at 12pm BST.

Priced at £225, the collection will be available exclusively from Studio Nicholson’s online and London flagship stores, and Dover Street Market, London.
